Hello, My name is 'Shenanigans'....

And I'm a blogger. It's been about 1 month since my self imposed hiatus, and I just couldn't keep away. I've mentioned in the past that I often get upset when the blogs that I read on a daily basis are not kept up to date. Well, during my SIH (self imposed hiatus), I not only didn't blog, but I also found very little time to keep up with the blogs that I read. I would make sure to check one or two every day, but other than that I was in a complete blackout of info.

Luckily it seemed that most of the blogs that I read had also found little time to update as well. This was the one time that I was glad to see them not updated. It's hard to explain, but you begin reading these stories from another person, a stranger, and then you become invested in what happens next. These peoples lives are fascinatingly dull and realistic. You sit down to watch television every night, and boy that Will and Grace are silly, but you know what's going to happen before it does because of a formula. A tried, tested and true formula that makes all television shows ultimately boring. But blogs, while not seen through the un-imaginative form of a TV set, are real, they are real people.

Bloggers face real problems on a daily basis like Dooce and Blurbomat's recent sewer problems with their house or Opinionistas problems with NY society life or the most dramatic of all, Post Secrets and the countless people who reveal the saddest and most life-affirming secrets. Of course it all comes in a creepy package that makes you wonder if this isn't stepping over some voyeuristic line, which of course it's not because they write this stuff for people to read. But it's these real life, seemingly inconsequential problems that make them interesting and also why I'm glad they waited for me to find time to read again before they updated.

Of course if the Waiter had to join forces with Jason Kottke in order to defeat terrorists who had taken over an airport in Utah (with special guest star, Dooce), that would be interesting as well... perhaps during sweeps month.

Happy Mothers Day Mom!!

I'm glad you remembered........ seeing that it is an important day to both you and to humanity.

Hello, let me introduce myself............I read only one blog - to find out what is going through the mind of the writer; to get an idea of what "counts" and what "doesn't. Sometines it's the dull stuff that has the message, other times it's the entertaining stuff that is the true dull, forgetable stuff. Pick and choose carefully - the choices do tell who you are.

Happy Mothers' Day.

Please post more blog entries with videos of kittens playing. I find that to be the most rewarding.
